…Or how your limiting beliefs about yourself impact your business.
You might think: What does starting a business have to do with limiting beliefs?
Well, the thing is all kinds of stuff comes up when you start to promote yourself – fears, doubts, and insecurities, your self-sabotaging patterns, and a hundred ways to procrastinate. My fridge was never as clean as when I started my last business.
A client just recently shared her story about how she used to negotiate contracts for millions of Euros on behalf of her fashion company without blinking an eye. Now she gets anxiety attacks asking for 20 Euros for an hour of her dog walking services. Sounds crazy, right?
But when you do it on behalf of others, it’s so much easier. When you “sell yourself”, your own product or services, it becomes scary. From being super excited and motivate you suddenly recoil because suddenly you realize you’re opening yourself up to the judgment of others. And all of your hidden (or not so hidden) fears and doubts about yourself kick into gear.
That’s when you self-sabotage. When I used to self-sabotage in the past.
What I have realized is that yes, we do not just offer a service or a product. As passionate soulpreneur we offer all of who we are.
AND THAT’S WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL.
It is not the fancy packaging or the impeccable studio that makes your service unique. IT’S YOU!
When you give a massage, all of your experience, all of your wisdom, energy, and intuition go into it. And that’s what makes it beautiful and something people want to come back to.
You don’t only offer the expertise and knowledge you’ve acquired. You also offer all of your hurts, your struggles, all the things you’re overcoming, your intuition, your humor, and all of your life experiences to the people you come in contact with. That’s what makes YOUR way different and unique.
If you feel paralyzed by your own fears and insecurities in your business you’re on the right path. It’s just part of stepping into bigger shoes.
